Alleged corruption of SGF: The world is watching as Buhari'll treated matter-Saraki


This came as the Senate voted to investigate alleged uncharitable outburst Lawal against her decision to be dismissed by the President on charges of violation of the provisions of the Public Procurement Act, 2007 and Government Regulation on the award of contracts under the Federal Financial Initiative of the President of the Republic on the North-East.

The affirmation of Saraki came as senators, yesterday, insisted that Lawal should be fired by President Buhari for engaging in alleged corrupt practice.

Saraki said that the ongoing war against corruption in the country by the President should not have limits if the country is to be put on the road to sanity.

Saraki wondered why a representative of the president would be rude to the Senate at a time when its main sought the hand of the legislator in communion in the interests of national development.

"The president (Buhari) came here yesterday (Wednesday) with humility tells us that he seeks our collaboration. And then how can his secretary (the Government of the Federation) said that we are talking rubbish," he said.

The decision of the Senate to probe's comments Lawal against it following the adoption of a motion on a point of order presented by Senator Dino Melaye (APC, Kogi West), in the field of personal privilege, based on orders Senate standing.

Melaye said that his concern emanating from some national newspapers headlines and online platforms, which have reported the reaction of Lawal, describing senators as "trash talk", noting that it was highly inconvenient and unacceptable.

The Senate had on Wednesday called on the SGF to resign his position to violation of the provisions of the Public Procurement Act, 2007, and the Federal Government Regulation on the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North-East Financial .

But Babachir in its reaction to the decision of the Senate said that all the action was nothing but nonsense and a calculated attempt to pull it down.

Reacting to the alleged outburst of SGF, the Senate, the plenary of the day, described as unbecoming of a public official of the state of the SGF, which according to the upper legislative chamber, was known for such outbursts in public.

It consequently ordered its Committee on Ethics and Public Petitions to investigate the derogatory remarks against the institution of the Senate credited to SGF embattled.

Speaking further on the issue, Saraki said: "The problem here is very serious because it borders on the integrity of the institution. The matters as serious as this should never be personalized.

"Yesterday, when we heard the president, the number one citizen of this country with humility that tells us who is looking for a National Assembly cooperation, and how can his secretary tell us that we are talking rubbish.

"The two conversations are not on the same page. We have to protect this institution and is not the kind of language and it is out of order, if someone was accused
of something, the way it should respond, and for him to say that we are talking rubbish, I think it's personslising problems. "
